Hands-on project time: approximately 15 minutes after your vessel has been cleaned and prepared.
The wax is finished. The vessel is not.
A substantial glass, ceramic, or stone candle vessel can remain beautiful long after the original candle has burned. Refilling allows the vessel to continue serving the purpose it was made for instead of becoming another object discarded at the end of a single use.
Most candles are sold as complete objects: wax, wick, fragrance, vessel, label, lid, carton, and protective shipping materials. Once the wax is consumed, the entire object is commonly replaced—even when the most durable and decorative component is still perfectly usable.
The LuLu & Oliver Candle Refill Kit changes that pattern. It separates the part you have used from the part you still love. Rather than purchasing another complete candle every time, you can keep an approved candle vessel and replace only the wax and wicks.
This creates a more intentional relationship with home fragrance. The vessel becomes part of your home, while the fragrance can change with the season, the room, or your mood.
Refill a dark stone candle with a warm autumn fragrance. Reuse the same vessel for evergreen and spice during the holidays. Begin spring with clean linen, herbs, white florals, or fresh green notes. Move into summer with mineral salt, citrus, fig, or coastal fragrance.
One vessel can hold many chapters. The object remains familiar while the atmosphere changes.
This is not sustainability through sacrifice. You still receive the fragrance, glow, ritual, and emotional experience of a luxury candle. You simply stop treating the vessel as disposable.
Luxury should be enjoyed fully—not discarded prematurely.
Better for the vessel. Better for the ritual. Better for the home.
Extend the Life of Your Candle Vessel
Reusing a heat-safe candle vessel gives a durable object another purpose instead of sending it to a cabinet, recycling bin, or landfill after one candle.
Reduce Repeated Packaging
Refilling reduces the need to repurchase another glass, ceramic, or stone container along with another lid, decorative carton, label, insert, and full-candle shipping package.
Choose a New Fragrance
Your vessel is no longer tied to one scent. Select a different LuLu & Oliver candle fragrance each time you refill and create a home fragrance wardrobe that evolves throughout the year.
Enjoy a Lower-Commitment Refresh
A refill lets you renew the candle experience without purchasing another decorative vessel. You invest in the wax, wick, and fragrance—the components you have actually used.
Create It Yourself Without Formulating
The fragrance is already blended into the wax. You do not need to calculate fragrance load, weigh separate ingredients, or develop a candle formula from scratch.
Turn Reuse Into a Beautiful Ritual
Cleaning the vessel, placing the fresh wicks, melting the scented wax, pouring, and waiting for the first relight creates a satisfying sense of renewal.
What each part of the ritual really means.
Refill
Replace the used wax with a fresh, pre-scented coconut-blend wax refill and new cotton wicks. The vessel returns to its original purpose as a candle.
Reuse
Keep a durable candle container in circulation for another burn cycle. Repeated reuse allows the environmental benefit to grow over time.
Recycle
Recycle the refill packaging and wooden stir stick where local facilities accept those materials. Recycling matters, but reuse comes first because it preserves the finished vessel and the resources already invested in making it.
Important: Not every decorative container is safe for candle use. Refill only intact, heat-safe vessels originally manufactured and tested to hold burning candles. Never use a cracked, chipped, thin-walled, unknown, or decorative-only container.
Every component has a purpose.
32 oz of Pre-Scented Coconut-Blend Wax
The wax arrives already blended with your chosen LuLu & Oliver candle fragrance. This removes one of the most technical parts of candle making: measuring the fragrance, determining the fragrance-to-wax ratio, and blending the two at the correct stage.
The 32 oz quantity gives you flexibility. Depending on the capacity of your approved vessel or vessels, the kit may be used to refill one larger candle or multiple smaller candle vessels. Always follow the wick and vessel guidance included with your order.
Fresh Organic Cotton, Vegan Wicks
A successful refill begins with fresh wicks. The included cotton wicks are zinc- and lead-free and give your new candle a clean starting point.
Wick performance depends on vessel diameter, wax, fragrance, and the number of wicks used. Follow the supplied instructions rather than guessing or substituting a different wick configuration.
Wick Stickers
Wick stickers secure the metal wick tabs to the bottom of the clean vessel before pouring. Proper placement helps keep the wick stable and centered as the wax is added and begins to cool.
Recyclable Wooden Stir Stick
The wooden stir stick allows you to gently stir the melted, pre-scented wax according to the instructions before pouring. Check local recycling or composting rules before disposal.
Step-by-Step Instructions
The included guide walks you through old-wax removal, vessel preparation, wick placement, safe wax melting, stirring, pouring, cooling, curing, trimming, and candle care.
No additional fragrance oil is required. Adding extra oil can disrupt the tested wax-to-fragrance balance and may affect burn performance or safety.
A simple project. A completely renewed candle.
Finish & Inspect
Stop burning the original candle when approximately one-half inch of wax remains. Once cool, inspect the vessel for cracks, chips, deep scratches, or heat damage. Do not reuse a damaged vessel.
Clean & Dry
Remove the remaining wax and old wick tabs using the method provided in the instructions. Wash the vessel when appropriate for its material, remove all residue, and let it dry completely.
Place the Wicks
Use the included stickers to secure the fresh wicks in the recommended positions. Centered, firmly attached wicks help support an even and controlled burn.
Melt the Wax
Melt the pre-scented wax exactly as directed. Use care with hot wax, avoid overheating, and never leave the melting wax unattended.
Stir Gently
Use the wooden stir stick to gently combine the melted wax as instructed. The fragrance is already incorporated; no extra fragrance or additives should be added.
Pour Carefully
Place the vessel on a level, heat-resistant, protected surface. Carefully pour the melted wax while keeping the wick placement stable.
Cool & Cure
Allow the candle to cool undisturbed. Then let it cure for the full time stated in the instructions so the wax and fragrance can settle before the first burn.
Trim & Relight
Trim the wicks to the recommended length, place the candle away from drafts and flammable materials, and enjoy the first burn of its new life.

Our refill kits are offered in current LuLu & Oliver candle fragrances—from fresh botanical and coastal profiles to rich woods, amber, gourmand blends, and seasonal fall and holiday scents.
Because a scent name cannot tell the entire story, our Candle Fragrance Library describes the notes, mood, character, and seasonality of the fragrances currently offered.
Explore Candle Fragrance NotesUse the fragrance library to discover:
- Fresh, green, herbal, and garden-inspired scents
- Coastal, mineral, linen, and clean fragrances
- Warm amber, vanilla, woods, smoke, and leather
- Fruit, floral, tea, spice, and gourmand blends
- Fall candle fragrances and pumpkin scents
- Christmas candle fragrances, evergreen, birch, and winter woods
The vessel can stay while the atmosphere changes.
Spring & Summer
Refill with green leaves, herbs, white flowers, linen, citrus, sea salt, fig, tomato vine, honeysuckle, white tea, lavender, or bright fruit notes when you want the room to feel fresh, airy, and alive.
A favorite vessel can move from a bedroom to a sunroom, kitchen, guest room, bathroom, or covered porch simply by changing its fragrance personality.
Autumn
As the weather cools, reach for pumpkin and patchouli, apple, cider, chai, cashmere woods, amber, smoke, clove, moss, dark fruit, or a fragrance inspired by an old manor, cabin, or mountain road.
Holiday & Winter
Transform the vessel with white birch, blue spruce, fir balsam, snow-covered evergreen, winter citrus, fireside woods, mulled wine, spiced fruit, vanilla, or an old-fashioned Christmas shop fragrance.
Instead of storing multiple vessels for every season, one refillable candle container can become an adaptable part of your holiday and home decor.
Year-Round Signature Scents
Some fragrances transcend seasons: warm tobacco and vanilla, sophisticated white tea, rich fig and forest, library-inspired woods, fresh herbs, amber and lavender, or a polished blend of bergamot, leather, and soft woods.
The wax is the foundation of the fragrance experience.
Candle wax does more than hold a wick. It influences how the candle melts, how fragrance moves through the room, how the melt pool develops, and how the candle performs from the first burn to the last.
Our refill wax is created with a coconut-blend base and arrives pre-scented for convenience and consistency. It contains no added dyes, allowing the focus to remain on the fragrance and the candle ritual.
The blend is designed for a balanced home fragrance experience rather than requiring the customer to formulate wax and fragrance independently. When used as instructed in an appropriate vessel with the supplied wick configuration, it provides the foundation for a beautifully renewed candle.
Because wax, wick, vessel, and fragrance work as a system, do not add colorants, oils, botanicals, crystals, dried flowers, herbs, glitter, or other decorative materials to the refill.
Beautiful is not enough. The vessel must also be safe.
Only refill a container that was manufactured for candle use and remains structurally sound. Candle vessels are exposed to repeated heat cycles, and a container that appears decorative may not be able to tolerate those conditions.
| Generally Appropriate | Do Not Use |
|---|---|
| Intact glass candle jars originally sold with candles | Drinking glasses, wine glasses, mason jars not rated for candles, or thin household glass |
| Heat-safe ceramic candle vessels in excellent condition | Decorative pottery of unknown composition or pieces with unglazed interiors |
| Approved stone or concrete candle vessels designed for repeated candle use | Natural shells, wood containers, planters, bowls, or porous containers not made for candles |
| Vessels with no cracks, chips, deep scratches, or weakened seams | Any vessel that has been dropped, cracked, chipped, overheated, or otherwise damaged |
| Containers sized appropriately for the supplied wax and wick instructions | Very narrow, unusually wide, irregularly shaped, unstable, or lidded containers not covered by the instructions |
When uncertain about a vessel, do not refill it. Contact LuLu & Oliver before proceeding or choose a known, approved candle container.
How to protect the burn, the fragrance, and the vessel.
Trim Before Every Burn
Keep the wick trimmed to the length specified in the instructions. An overlong wick can create an oversized flame, smoke, mushrooming, excessive heat, or soot.
Allow an Even Melt Pool
On the first burn, allow the wax to melt toward the vessel edges when safe and practical. This helps establish an even burn pattern and reduces tunneling.
Avoid Drafts
Keep the candle away from fans, vents, open windows, and busy walkways. Moving air can create an unstable flame and uneven burning.
Keep the Wax Clean
Do not allow wick trimmings, matches, dust, dried flowers, herbs, or other debris to remain in the wax or melt pool.
Limit Burn Sessions
Follow the maximum burn time provided with your instructions. Excessively long burns can overheat the vessel and reduce candle performance.
Know When to Stop
Discontinue burning when approximately one-half inch of wax remains. Never burn the candle until the vessel is completely empty.
Give them a fragrance experience they get to create.
A candle refill kit makes an unexpected gift for the person who already owns beautiful candles, loves home fragrance, enjoys small creative projects, or wants to make more intentional choices at home.
It is especially meaningful when paired with an empty LuLu & Oliver vessel or given to someone who has been reluctant to throw away a favorite candle container.
The experience continues beyond opening the package. The recipient chooses the vessel, prepares it, pours the wax, waits for it to cure, and enjoys the satisfaction of the first relight.
Ideal for birthdays, housewarmings, hostess gifts, holidays, Mother’s Day, creative weekends, and anyone who believes beautiful things deserve another life.
Candle refill kit questions.
What is included in the 32 oz candle refill kit?
The kit includes 32 ounces of coconut-blend wax pre-scented with your selected LuLu & Oliver candle fragrance, organic cotton vegan wicks, wick stickers, a recyclable wooden stir stick, and step-by-step instructions.
Is the fragrance already blended into the wax?
Yes. The wax arrives pre-blended with the fragrance you select. You do not need to purchase, measure, or add separate fragrance oil.
Where can I read the candle scent descriptions?
Visit the LuLu & Oliver Candle Fragrance Library to review the notes and scent profiles for current year-round, fall, and holiday candle fragrances.
Can I refill any candle jar?
No. Use only an intact, heat-safe container originally designed for candle use. Do not refill cracked, chipped, scratched, thin, unstable, porous, decorative-only, or unknown containers.
Can I use the kit in a LuLu & Oliver stone candle vessel?
A LuLu & Oliver vessel may be refilled only when it remains undamaged and the refill instructions are appropriate for its size and wick configuration. Inspect the vessel carefully before every refill.
How many candles will 32 ounces of wax make?
The number depends on the usable capacity of your approved vessel or vessels. For example, one large vessel will use more wax than several smaller vessels. Do not overfill a container, and follow the supplied vessel and wick instructions.
How long does it take to make the candle?
The active project typically takes about 15 minutes once the vessel has been cleaned and prepared. Cooling and curing require additional time before the candle should be lit.
How long should the refilled candle cure?
Follow the curing period printed in your kit instructions. Allowing the candle to cure fully supports the best fragrance and burn experience.
Can I add more fragrance oil?
No. The wax has already been blended at the intended fragrance level. Adding extra oil can affect the way the wax sets and burns and may create a safety concern.
Can I add dried flowers, crystals, herbs, glitter, or color?
No. Do not add combustible botanicals, crystals, glitter, dyes, oils, or decorative materials. Foreign objects in or near the melt pool can interfere with safe candle performance.
Are the wicks lead-free?
The included organic cotton, vegan wicks are zinc- and lead-free.
Is refilling a candle more sustainable?
Refilling extends the usable life of a durable candle vessel and can reduce the need to purchase another complete container and its associated packaging. The benefit increases when the same appropriate vessel is reused multiple times.
What if my vessel is damaged?
Do not refill or burn it. Cracks, chips, deep scratches, impact damage, or signs of overheating can weaken the vessel. Choose another approved container.
How should I burn the finished candle?
Trim the wick before each burn, keep the candle on a stable heat-resistant surface, avoid drafts, keep it away from children, pets, and flammable objects, never leave it unattended, and discontinue use when approximately one-half inch of wax remains.
Where is the candle refill kit made?
LuLu & Oliver products are hand-poured in small batches in Landrum, South Carolina.
